OKLAHOMA CITY – The game between the Dallas Mavericks and the Oklahoma City Thunder started with honoring late Kobe Bryant. Both teams celebrated him by taking eight and 24-second violations to start the game. Most players also honored Kobe on their shoes, including Luka Dončić who was emotional about Bryant’s and his daughter’s Gigi’s tragic death. “I broke down after the first quarter,” Dončić said. “That was when it really hit me. It was really hard to explain.”

20-year old from Slovenia led the Mavs with 29 points, 11 rebounds and five assists. Dallas beat Oklahoma 107-97. Tim Hardaway Jr. contributed 15 points and Kristaps Porzingis added 14 points and 10 rebounds. The Mavs got out to a fast start, they led after the first quarter and never looked back.

Thunder’s Chris Paul missed the game for personal reasons.

The Mavericks will host the Phoenix Suns on Tuesday.
