The Dallas Mavericks came and conquered Houston in a Texas clash. The Rockets dominated last season and broke their franchise record for most wins in a season with 59 wins, but they lost in Conference Finals to the eventual NBA champion Golden State Warriors.
The Mavs showed all-around team performance to get the 128-108 victory over Houston. Even a great performance from last season’s MVP James Harden who had a triple-double couldn’t prevent another loss for the Houston Rockets. Luka Dončić played 24 minutes and finished with 20 point, six rebounds, two assists, and one steal. Coach Rick Carlisle applauded players after 10th victory of the season. “We have really good players, but we’re a team that’s really the strength is the sum of its parts. The guys have really come together with a defensive identity, and that’s who we are. We’re a defensive team and we’re a base team on offense,” said Carlisle.
Luka showed his skills and talent in his first performance against the Rockets including a big-time dagger 3-pointer from half court at the second quarter buzzer. “I love shooting threes, I work on them a lot. I always did love those shots and I’m always going to shoot that shot,” said Doncić.
