Shorthanded Dallas loses to Memphis
DALLAS – The Dallas Mavericks faced the Memphis Grizzlies without starters Luka Dončić, Jalen Brunson and Dwight Powell. The Grizzlies stormed out to a big lead in the second quarter and never looked back. Memphis won 122-112.
The highlight of the game was a dunk by Dirk Nowitzki. 40-year-old dunked for the first time this season.
Nowitzki finished with 12 points and seven rebounds. “It was a big highlight. It was one of the few,” said coach Rick Carlisle. “We just didn’t play hard enough. They just played with more force really from start to finish. They were just more aggressive.”
The Grizzlies and Mavericks play again on Sunday in Memphis.
