OKLAHOMA CITY – The Dallas Mavericks played their last game of the year 2019 against the Oklahoma City Thunder. The Mavs wanted to say goodbye to 2019 with a victory, but without Kristaps Porzingis (knee soreness) and Tim Hardaway Jr. (hamstring strain) the Thunder won 106-101.

The Mavs led by 12 points at the end of the first quarter, they led 51-50 at halftime. Dallas had a small lead also in the final minutes, but Chris Paul scored 13 of Oklahoma’s 14 points and gave the Thunder the lead for good.

Luka Dončić played with a left wrist sprain and back contusion suffered after a hard fall against the Los Angeles Lakers, but it didn’t show on the floor. The second-year star from Slovenia scored game-high 35 points, 10 rebounds and seven assists.

“We have a great team,” said Dončić after the game. “We hung in there until the last minute. Oklahoma is a great team.”

The Mavericks ended their three-game road trip with 1-2 and concluded 2019 21-12 overall.

Dallas will host the Brooklyn Nets on Thursday.
